Becoming a Member of ABL

The Affiliated Blind of Louisiana, Inc. is a membership organization of blind, visually impaired, and deaf-blind individuals in our state. ABL was founded by a small group of blind and visually impaired people that believed achieving your dreams should not be hindered by a disability.

The Mission of Affiliated Blind of Louisiana, Inc. is:

To Educate, To Support, and To Mentor.

Services and Activities Include:

  • Community Blindness Awareness
  • Statewide Support Groups
  • Local Chapter Meetings
  • Information and Referral
  • Low Vision Forums
  • Statewide Fundraising Activities
  • Biannual Newsletter
  • State Convention

You can be part of an ABL chapter in your area. Annual dues are $10.00 and you will be eligible to attend meetings and receive services.

ABL Chapters are located in the following cities:

  • Lafayette
  • Alexandria
  • Shreveport
  • Baton Rouge
  • New Orleans
  • Houma
