Telecommunication Access Loan Program
Equipment Distribution Process:

Telecommunication equipment is loaned, upon availability, to Louisiana residents with a limit of one item per household from each category.

 
Category A:
Telecommunication Device for the Deaf

Large Visual Display (LVD)

Deaf-Blind Communicator (DBC)

Amplified Telephone and/or Amplifier

Voice Carryover Telephone

CapTel 200 or CapTel 800i

 
Category B:

Light Flashers with options

Vibro-Tactile Flashers (Deaf-Blind)

Loud Bell Ringer

 
Category C:
Compact TTY

 

Eligibility Guidelines:

Documentation of hearing loss, combined hearing and visual loss, or a speech impairment.

 
Acceptable documentation of sensory impairment may include notice from: Medical Doctor, Audiologist, Speech/Language Pathologist, Speech Therapist, or Rehabilitation Counselor; or an audiogram; or a notice on official letterhead from an appropriate representative (i.e. Council on Aging or senior residential facility).
 
Louisiana resident
 
Individuals under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian’s signature as agreement of responsibility for loaned equipment.
 
Due to the high volume of requests and to assure the best quality service possible, appointments made in advance are preferred.

 

ABL provides services to the following parishes:

Acadia, Evangeline, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary, Vermillion
